After the Storm

The Storm is Transient

The snow came almost straight down on Friday. Sunrise Saturday looked like this!

Last Daisy

On Wednesday it snowed. The skies cleared Wednesday night and it was about 20 degrees when we went for our Thursday morning walk.

To my surprise I found this lone daisy – hunkering down between 2 of my father-in-law’s rusty buckets.

A Little Gift

a little gift

Autumn is fading quickly in the Black Hills.

Most of the golden leaves are on the ground and we have already seen our first taste of snow.

The few remaining wild flowers  are in a death struggle with the frost that comes every night.

To my complete surprise this little fellow appeared yesterday morning.

It might seem strange, but this flower with a blossom less that 1/4 inch in diameter seemed like a gift to me.

Now it is my gift to you.

Huh?
